How to Install an Indicator in MetaTrader 4
Installing a custom MT4 indicator normally takes only a few minutes. The exact file supplied with a product may vary, so always follow the product-specific instructions when they are provided.
1. Open the MT4 data folder
In MetaTrader 4, open File → Open Data Folder. This opens the MetaTrader data directory used by your installation.
2. Open MQL4 → Indicators
Inside the data folder, open MQL4 and then Indicators. Copy the supplied indicator file into this Indicators folder.
3. Refresh MetaTrader 4
Return to MT4. In the Navigator panel, right-click Indicators and choose Refresh. If the indicator does not appear, restart MetaTrader 4.
4. Add the indicator to a chart
Find the indicator in Navigator → Indicators, then drag it onto the desired chart. Review its Inputs and other settings before clicking OK.
5. Check product-specific requirements
